Privacy Policy

AUS-QUAL Training Services is the training arm of AUS-MEAT Limited (ABN 44 082 528 881). References to “AUS-QUAL”, “we”, “us”, or “our” in this policy mean AUS-MEAT Limited trading as AUS-QUAL.

1. Policy Statement

AUS-QUAL respects the privacy of individuals and complies with our obligations under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the associated Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

This policy sets out how AUS-QUAL collects, maintains, uses, and discloses personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles. Specifically, this policy describes:

  1. the types of personal information we collect and hold;
  2. how we collect and hold personal information;
  3. the purposes for which we collect, hold, use, and disclose personal information;
  4. how individuals may access and update personal information held by AUS-QUAL;
  5. how individuals may complain about a breach of the Australian Privacy Principles and how we will deal with such a complaint; and
  6. how personal information may be disclosed to overseas recipients.

2. Purpose

This policy provides the basis for the privacy requirements within AUS-QUAL and the guidelines used to administer them. It applies to all officers, employees, contractors and service providers of AUS-MEAT Limited (including its AUS-QUAL training services).

3. Responsibility

Changes to this policy must be authorised by the Chief Executive Officer of AUS-MEAT Limited.

4. Collection of Your Personal Information

AUS-QUAL collects and holds personal information for our business purposes. Where AUS-QUAL documents require personal information, we will state the purposes for its use and to whom the personal information may be disclosed.

The information we collect and hold may include:

  1. names, addresses, telephone numbers and email addresses of students, contractors (including auditors), clients, members and licensees;
  2. information obtained in the course of training, assessment, audit and certification processes; and
  3. other information for our business purposes which is reasonably necessary for, or directly related to, our functions or activities.

In some circumstances you may have the option of not identifying yourself or using a pseudonym when dealing with AUS-QUAL — for example, when making a general enquiry. However, choosing not to provide the information may hinder our ability to provide the requested service. (Course enrolments, assessments and the issuing of nationally recognised qualifications require identification under the Standards for RTOs 2015.)

AUS-QUAL collects personal information directly from you and from third parties as required, through our website, face-to-face meetings, training delivery, in documents or forms, or during communications with you, our clients or our contractors. Where necessary, we may supplement the information you provide with information from third-party sources, including government, statutory and regulatory bodies, and other organisations.

5. Privacy Information Management

All personal information is stored within Australia using web services and data facilities managed by AUS-MEAT Limited or contracted managed-service providers. For certain web-based services that are contracted out, appropriate contractual measures are taken to protect this information.

6. Personal Information Management

Personal information provided to AUS-QUAL will be used for the primary purpose of providing training, assessment and related services to our clients and students.

We may use the personal information collected to fulfil legal obligations, and to keep students, members, licensees and clients informed of AUS-QUAL’s and AUS-MEAT Limited’s activities and services. AUS-QUAL may send marketing material; unsubscription options are always available.

7. Personal Information Disclosure

AUS-QUAL will only disclose an individual’s personal information for the purposes for which it has been collected. Depending on the service, AUS-QUAL may disclose your personal information to:

  1. internal personnel of AUS-MEAT Limited;
  2. external service providers, on a confidential basis and for relevant business purposes only (including training, assessment and learning-management platforms);
  3. government, statutory and regulatory bodies, organisations or committees to which AUS-QUAL provides services or is required to report (including ASQA and state training authorities);
  4. companies with which AUS-QUAL has information-exchange agreements;
  5. specialist advisers providing legal, administrative, financial, insurance, research, marketing or other services; and
  6. any other authorised person, including standard owners associated with product, process or service certifications.

Subject to the Australian Privacy Principles, personal information may also be disclosed for another purpose if you would reasonably expect the information to be disclosed for that other purpose, or for purposes to which you have consented.

AUS-QUAL may disclose personal information to a third party if necessary to prevent or lessen a serious and imminent threat to the life, health or safety of you or another person and it is unreasonable or impracticable to obtain your consent. AUS-QUAL will not otherwise disclose personal information without consent unless authorised by law.

8. Security of Information

AUS-QUAL takes all reasonable steps to protect personal information from loss, unauthorised access, modification, disclosure, interference or other misuse.
